Magnitude Global Finance is led by Amanda Lonsdale.

Amanda is an expert in financial structuring, investing, and project development, with 20 years’ experience in emerging markets. She has a passion for increasing access to finance for underrepresented populations, industries, and projects, and uses her expertise to advise on and design products and financial structures to mitigate risk, grow companies, and get projects built. She spent several years working in Southeast Asia working with local governments on effective economic development strategies. She also worked for a renewable energy private equity/project development company developing and financing projects in the US, Latin America, and Europe. Recently, she has worked on several donor projects in East Africa focused on increasing the development of geothermal power and direct use projects in the region. Her financial structuring and design experience ranges from risk mitigation facilities for multi-million dollar infrastructure projects to social impact bonds to provide health services to underserved communities. She has worked with both private and public sector clients, including ADB, Adam Smith International, Deloitte, DFID, TetraTech, USAID, and the World Wildlife Fund.

Amanda has an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in Finance and Entrepreneurship and an MA from the Johns Hopkins University School of International Studies (SAIS) in Southeast Asia Studies; she also has a BA from Johns Hopkins University.
