Project Overview

MGF serves as the lead Finance and Capital Structuring Advisor for Climate Policy Initiative (CPI)’s Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance (The Lab), an investor-led, public-private initiative that incubates innovative, well-designed, early-stage climate finance solutions and instruments. Since 2019, MGF has advised more than 30 finance vehicles spanning climate mitigation, adaptation and resilience, energy, and nature, supporting their development from early-stage concepts toward viable, investment-ready solutions.

Our Work

• Energy and innovative finance. Advised instruments including the Clean Economy Fund, investing in first-of-a-kind climate technologies in India’s highest-emitting energy and industrial sectors, and Solar Securitization for Rwanda, which uses securitization to unlock local currency lending. 
• Nature finance. Advised CrossBoundary’s Fund for Nature on blended finance design, capital structuring, and carbon investor engagement for early-stage nature-based solutions projects, and advised The Landbanking Group on Nature Equity Asset investments that preserve and regenerate high-integrity forests and agroforestry systems.
• Adaptation and resilience finance. Advises Impact Earth’s Tropical Resilience Fund, a $100 million fund addressing biodiversity loss, climate vulnerability, and socio-economic resilience across the Amazon and broader Tropical Belt.
