Project Overview

MGF supports British International Investment (BII), participating signatories, and investors in the development and implementation of the Investors Resilience Challenge (IRC), a global initiative designed to bring greater clarity and consistency to how adaptation and resilience investments are identified, assessed, and communicated.

Launched at COP30 with 16 founding signatories, the IRC provides a practical set of criteria that investors can apply across different investment strategies and markets. MGF’s role spans technical development, stakeholder consultation, signatory engagement, piloting, and communications, helping translate emerging investor approaches into a framework that can support greater alignment and scale capital for adaptation and resilience. 

Our Work

• Framework design and launch. Advised on the original design and technical development of the IRC, including its criteria and assessment approach, and supported its launch at COP30 with 16 founding signatories.
• Consultation and signatory engagement. Facilitated engagement with DFIs, MDBs, private investors, and other market participants to test the framework, gather feedback, and refine the approach based on market practice. 
• Guidance, case studies, and resources. Developed practical guidance, case studies, and supporting materials to help investors understand and apply the IRC, alongside resources for signatories and the wider market. 
• Piloting and implementation. Supporting signatories to test the IRC across real investments and portfolios, capture lessons from application, and strengthen the framework ahead of wider uptake.
