Project Overview
MGF has advised WWF on two blue economy investment and commercialization initiatives. As Technical Lead and Strategic Advisor in support of WWF’s Aquaculture Fund, MGF supported investment screening and due diligence for early-stage aquaculture investments. Separately, MGF served as Lead Commercial Advisor for a seaweed value chain analysis and commercialization strategy for East Africa in cooperation with WWF and the Gates Foundation.
Our Work
- Aquaculture Fund. Led due diligence, market analysis, and risk assessment for seed equity investments in early-stage aquaculture SMEs, assessing local market realities, financial return thresholds, and sustainable growth potential.
- East Africa Seaweed Commercialization. Led study design, financial modeling, and development of the business case for using seaweed as a soy replacement in livestock feed.
